FEAST OF HOPE 2022
This is a Thanksgiving Day meal when we plan to serve up to 1,100 meals to the community. We have done this for over 20 years. This year we will have take-out boxes for people who come to the church and also up to 650 meals that will be delivered to residents of homeless shelters, special needs housing programs, and home-bound senior citizens. We will NOT have a clothing pantry again this year. We need volunteers on Wednesday for set up and on Thanksgiving Day to deliver meals, help box meals and hand them out and help clean up, and experience the richness of a community celebration.
Takeout meals will be available at the church from
11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP
Please, use the link below to sign up for a specific time. Due to safety concerns, we will limit the number of volunteers at any given time.
We will try to honor the task you sign up for. However, if a different area is in need of more help, we may ask you to change to a different task.
All volunteers must wear masks, gloves, hairnets and be at least 12 years old unless in a car helping with delivery of meals.
VOLUNTEER TASKS
There will be a variety of tasks on Thanksgiving, including, prepping food, serving, filling take-out boxes, handing out boxes, delivering meals, and of course, clean up! If you are able, we hope you will join us in this important ministry.
If you have questions, call the church office at (505) 255-8095.
CONTRIBUTIONS
Because of the modified menu and due to supply issues, we are not requesting donations of any food or supplies. Rather, please consider supporting the Feast with a monetary donation. Donations can be sent to the church or can be made via the La Mesa Presbyterian Church website.
While we are waiting for a direct link to donate to the Feast of Hope, please, use the "Other" category and specify "Feast of Hope" or "FoH." Many thanks.
