For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
- Matthew 25
WHAT DO WE NEED
Items that RRFB does not support are:
Pinto beans (canned)
Peanut butter crackers
Soups with meat
If you are out shopping, we could use these items!.
Criteria for Entry: our pantry does not require an ID, proof of food stamps, nor address for individuals. We believe if you made the effort to find us and come within our hours, you are a victim of food insecurity.
Logistics: Monday through Friday 9-11, line up on the west side of the building.
Allowed Amounts: individuals are allowed to receive 30 pounds of canned goods, bread, dessert, and frozen meat depending on availablity.
We have been open since 2008 as a food pantry affiliated with the Roadrunner Food Bank system. Ours is the only 5-day a week pantry in Albuquerque. Over the first 6 months of 2020, we have helped about 2,200 families giving out 15 tons of food. The value of the food acquired to be given out since January 2020 is $43,500.
It costs about $900 a week to stock the pantry. So receiving support from the congregation and friends is critical to our being able to supply much needed food to those who are suffering and come to our pantry. Please support us by giving a donation via the GoFundMe link.
